Green Sleeves – taking back urban spaces

In Toronto, Eric Cheung and Sean Martindale, have been busy turning the city green – planting flowers in the thick layers of old billboard posters. They cut large triangles into the posters, then use a staple gun to firmly reattach the triangles in the shape of a cone. These pockets then act as a planter for various plants and flowers.

I really like this simple idea, and think it provides creative way of taking back urban spaces, while adding a little green
