When designer Jon Jackson accepted a job that would take him from Los Angeles to New York, he wanted to make sure not to string LA along. So he decided to firmly break it off through a graphic billboard series entitled Adios LA . Posted along the famous streets of his first love, this is a wonderful visual goodbye to a city.
“It’s not you LA, It’s me” can be found on Venice Blvd and is accompanied by the following artist statement:
“Look you’re great, Randy Neman loves the shit out of you, one of your basketball teams is amazing, your burritos are delicious, you’ve got a lot going for you, you’re just not right for me. I put a sign up to remind you that it is nothing you did on Venice Blvd just west of the 405. I know it sucks, but don’t worry, there will be some buff guy in a pair of True Religions and an Ed Hardy shirt to take my place in no time. I can smell his sweet cologne already.”
