Kim Høltermand, Tim Navis, and composer Deru have teamed up to create a unique aural visual journey through the remote countryside of Iceland. The idea is simple, “a series of short films at various locations throughout the island, inspired by moments of discovery and chance occurrence.” They want to capture their experiences in the remote countryside with the landscape, residents and traditions. There is an incredible wealth of talent working on the project from filmmakers and photographers to musicians including acts like Shigeto, Loscil, Goldmund, Asura, Tycho, Joby Talbot, and Ryuichi Sakamoto. The group hopes to create a beautifully packaged box set of the film and companion soundtrack, which will be released to backers of the project as a physical artifact of the unique and awe-inspiring experience. The project will kick off in October, and if the video is anything to go by, the results will definitely be worth looking out for. Check out their kickstarter page here.
